Chaplins Time Traveler Add Video
The video lecture of my report on the footage of Chaplins premiere for THE CIRCUS which features a member of the public walking by on a mobile phone - in 1928!! P.S. Commenting a user named "Si" below, I think if you want to hide something from others at any time, you have to put it into a contemporary shell. What I mean is if you install your communication device of our times in a hearing aid's shell in 1928, it will surely be hidden for the people of 1928 !!! So you may see her/him holding a contemporary device linked below, but as she/he is talking into it, it should be something different from a simple hearing aid... Good luck, George!

good job mr. clarke on this great find. i dont know what it could be and belive that nobody knows forsure what it could be but i belive the lady/man is part of the illuminati. it is a sercret group thats been around for a long time and it is belive that they have the techonollgy far vast then we know of. in other words back then when cell phones wernt created the illuminati had them and in todays world we have cell phones but the illuminati has technollgy far more vast then a cell phone.

Why the fixation on a cell phone? There are a lot better explinations than a cell phone, or an alien or Mr. Sulu. It is a time traveler with a Communications device. Cell phones are radios, and do not need a satellite to function or a cell tower if you modify it slightly. The best possible theory I can come up with that keeps the time traveler idea present is that she is communicating to the handlers on the other side of the wormhols and looked ointo the camera to provide proof that the expirement worked. She obviously stopped and looked into the camera on purpose, weather or not she was a time traveler.
My other theory is that the guy from the commercials will eventually go back in time to say, "Can you hear me now?" Only he will be in drag... :^)

As someone mentioned earlier in a post, there would need to be a cell phone tower (and satelite) in order to be able to use a cell phone (Seems like it would be too difficult to communicate across time, in any case). However, I've been watching a lot of the Ancient Aliens series lately (on the History Channel), and the guests on the show claim that there is proof that Ancient Aliens have visited the Earth for thousands of years, and that some of them, essentially, look like us. If true, maybe the woman is actually an alien using a communication device to converse with her spaceship--think along the lines of Star Trek. Who knows? Anything, I believe, is possible.
The women looks like Elsa Einstein very heavy and huge feet as you said rather butch looking eh Einstein believe time travel was possible. That's my thought but I can't see the nose all that great and he could have sent her back in her later years you would have to do a research on that

Great find . Mr. Clarke if you can believe that your body is a container for your spirit or as most would say your soul, then the possibilty of time travel is evident ! The cell phone ? I can't explain why the He-She is able to carry it with her and is able to talk someone ? I am trying to understand this myself ! The mystery of flesh and the spirit is still a MYSTERY ! To say this man's theory is ridiculous, is ridiculous. So it's a theory, but sometimes you have to believe your eyes as well as collective knowledge. A time traveler? I don't know, but it could have been a device that only few had then, like a walkie-talkie or something of that nature. But it's very interesting, and I'm happy he was sharp enough to spot this. : )

Could the device be a 1924 Siemens hearing aid unit? Google it. The hearing aid looks very much like a modern mobile phone. A hearing aid wouldn't explain, however, the fact that the person in the video appeared to be having a two-way conversation.

I watched the footage and it does look suspiciously like some kinda mobile phone...I'm not 100%convinced that it is but there's not many things that I can think of that you'd hold in the same position...or the same way...hmmm....weird all the same...!

I have watched the footage on the circus extras. The strange person holding what appears to be a mobile phone is also on my dvd copy. I think she/he could have oblivously walked back in time and didn't realise that until they appeared to have noticed the camera. I also noticed how they fade out of the picture. That to me is very strange.

hey george whats up? now about ur theory of time travile i really dont think thats true cuz if i wanna assume that a man or a women went back in time and wanted to use his cell phone there is no way he or she can use it cuz at that time there were no network coverage and ofcourse no communication sattelites so its impossible to happen no matter what!
