Chaplins Time Traveler Add Video
The video lecture of my report on the footage of Chaplins premiere for THE CIRCUS which features a member of the public walking by on a mobile phone - in 1928!! P.S. Could the device be a 1924 Siemens hearing aid unit? Google it. The hearing aid looks very much like a modern mobile phone. A hearing aid wouldn't explain, however, the fact that the person in the video appeared to be having a two-way conversation.

Well, i,m going to try to lead you and this is my sugestion for you to explore somethin interesting, and probably you will find an answer my dear friend.
when we go back in that period, you will find that there was too many scientists, specially in that science area. One of them was the famous of all of them, NIKOLA TESLA. In the field of electricity and all the spheras arond us, energies arond us, ionosphera, radiowaves, waves of any possiblle kind, wave on a distance, He,s main idea was to take ellectricity from arond us which of course exists, and use it for free for many goods. OVER 150 patents he has as legal at that time, he was one of scientists who rejects the Nobel prize becaouse Markoni still one of his patents and so one. The main thing was that he find out that every single thin that God creates have a special freqvency. Pleaese find everything abuot him, and if you can,t tell me i will try to find it for you, For example and of course anegdot from that time was that he has a speciall gedget which can find a frequency of buildings and bridges. In the center of New York with that thing Tesla was made a tens of earthqeakes, and the police was going nut and crazy abuot his everyday experiments. His best frien at that time was a great novelist Mark Twen ane he also talk about intersting dinners,
when everybody have a special tender light on them while Tesla was just smiling. I explain this to you becaouse one of his major patents was electricity in your home , and every product which you switch on is his genial idea. One of them is radio signal, remote sensors, remote controll, his patent and idea was to make ship with remote controle.Every thing on the planet that you now and heard and using now is his patent. Mobile phone too, when you find and read abuot his sciense patents you will find that the mobile signal is a very small idea in hudreds of them. He was very popuar in the media , and newspapers, every move of Tesla was in the newspapers. I will tell you just one more thing. Even cars with a speed of 200,250, 300 mp,h exist in that times, Just explore and you will find it very true. TO put an idea in the movie was a creative thing of Chaplin, just to see in a newspapers and put in the movie.

Hi,
I watched the footage and it does look suspiciously like some kinda mobile phone...I'm not 100%convinced that it is but there's not many things that I can think of that you'd hold in the same position...or the same way...hmmm....weird all the same...!

I have watched the footage on the circus extras. The strange person holding what appears to be a mobile phone is also on my dvd copy. I think she/he could have oblivously walked back in time and didn't realise that until they appeared to have noticed the camera. I also noticed how they fade out of the picture. That to me is very strange.

hey george whats up? now about ur theory of time travile i really dont think thats true cuz if i wanna assume that a man or a women went back in time and wanted to use his cell phone there is no way he or she can use it cuz at that time there were no network coverage and ofcourse no communication sattelites so its impossible to happen no matter what!

Has it been considered that there would have been cell phone towers built in that time? It would have been impossible for that person, wherever they are from, to be using a cellular device.

In response to your time traveler, firstly it is difficult to interpret that event as being anything other than some one speaking into a communication device. Secondly, I noticed the hand holding the device, regardless of gender, is clearly gloved, perhaps with a style of glove not consistent with the time of filming. If the this footage is in fact all that it seems then time travel would not be the only possible explanation. A more likely explanation would be that a technologically more advanced civilization was around at the same time, all be it covertly. My own personal view on time travel is simply that it is irrational and physics is anything but.

I am physics M.Sc., searching in theoretical physics about the Einstein's theories which lead to the prediction of time traveling through the worm holes, while they is only theoretical, this may be fact we must accept.
The woman use advanced technology than used in this time; mobile phones are not invented yet. But the woman talking with somebody.
Really, the mobile phones and wireless communications requires one of the following methods,
1-mobile networks, but it not found in 1928.
2-satallite communication, also not found in this year.
3-I think the woman use a wireless device to communicate with the time machine she come in.
Upon the Einstein's theory, men cannot travel without the time machine where the high electromagnetic fields are being harmful directly to the passenger; there is a machine, which the passenger rides.
The common wireless commutation requires in-range station (or the machine, the woman may talking to one of the machine leaders), if you can give me the location where filming done, we ay starting collecting information about strange phenomena in this zone.
Depending on the same theory, any body leaves small charges or stamps in the location where it found in the past.
The location where the machine stops waiting the woman going back, will leave some of the high electromagnetic field used in the machine and the hole, this field may affect the whether, acceleration due to gravity, Earth's magnetic field in this location, we may get information about the machine's size and shape.

I asked my dad about it and he says it looks just like the same hearing aid my great aunt had. It said the hearing aid was the shape of a cell phone but larger and boxier than a cell phone. It had to be held close against the ear for the person to hear properly. Usually people who had these large hearing aids were self conscious and did not like being photographed with the hearing aid up against their ear. They wanted warning that a pic was going to take place so they could put it down or hide it behind their back prior to the pic being snapped. They were the hearing aids we had before the ones fitted around the ear or in the ear.
I am unsure as to whether or not the top portion of the hearing aid was fitted to go over the ear of not. All I know for sure is that they were large and bulky. The person had to hold them and press them against their face and the ear. If you let go of them they dropped to the floor. Because they were an amplification system for the hearing impaired carried against the face and ear it would be easy to interpret this kind of hearing aid as a modern day cell phone. I can see where the mix up would occur. However, I do not believe the footage contains a time traveler. I believe it simply shows on film an example of a woman using a device that was on the market for the hearing impaired and was at that time the best we had for hearing aids (as at the start of the market as they may be).
I think if we pulled the patents from the US PTO we would see just what was patented at that time. Then do a search for what was in production at that time and we would have our answer. So, that is my two cents.
